Fracture Strength
The fracture strength test measures the maximum force a material can withstand before breaking, providing critical insights into its durability and performance. At Mawad Lab, this test is performed using the Universal Testing Machine (Mecmesin Multitest 2.5-i), which offers precise control and accuracy for static and cyclic compression or tension tests.
The test is applicable to a wide range of materials, including standard samples, teeth, tooth-supported restorations, and implant-supported restorations. By leveraging advanced tools like the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) for post-fracture analysis, we ensure a thorough evaluation of material properties and failure mechanisms.
This process aids researchers and manufacturers in enhancing material designs and ensuring the reliability and safety of biomedical devices in clinical and real-world applications.
