Shear bond strength
Shear bond strength testing at Mawad Lab measures the adhesive strength of materials under shear forces. This test evaluates the ability of bonded surfaces, such as dental restorations and adhesives, to withstand parallel forces that could separate them.
Using the Universal Testing Machine (Mecmesin Multitest 2.5-i), precise shear forces are applied to the bonded interfaces. Post-test failure analysis is performed with the Stereomicroscope and SEM, providing detailed insights into the bond’s reliability and failure mechanisms.
